We planned our route to include a visit with Stu and Deanna Davis. They live in a wonderful Victorian home in Imlay City, Michigan that they have lovingly restored over many years. It’s filled with all sorts of antique collections that are artfully arranged throughout the house. We enjoyed dinner with them at a local Mexican restaurant, at which Des especially enjoyed the burrito she was served. Our good friend Tracey Sharlow is their daughter.
Besides his expertise as a collector of antiquities, Stu is also a talented photographer. He had prepared some beautiful large prints for us to take along and to share with Tracey. However, we were concerned about what might happen to them in the confines of our trailer over the next couple of months, so he promised to bring them when they visit our neck of the woods for Christmas. I did get a digital version from Tracey, though, so wanted to share it here. This is a photo of two burrowing owls on Marco Island, Florida. These little cuties are quite common there, and their antics keep folks entertained (and real estate developers totally frustrated)!

Today’s route took us from Niagara Falls, through Ontario, and then to Emmett, Michigan, where we camped for the night. This involved two border crossings, a couple of misinterpretations of GPS directions by the driver😵💫, and other travel vagaries that impacted our schedule, and not for the better. We would have loved to spend more time visiting with our friends, but time had been chewed up by these events, leaving us less than we would have liked. Still, we were delighted to have this visit, and look forward to doing it again during future travels!
